Wine Route

One reason the Cape carries a badge of authentic nature is the fact that it is here where you get to experience all things wine. The Cape Winelands consists of many hectares of Winelands, beautiful vineyards and wine cellars that will leave you in awe. Parties on this tour have the option of visiting 4 to 5 wine farms in the wine region or 1 in each of these regions. As these tours include snacks, you can look forward to a fun-filled day in the vineyards!

Stellenbosch boasts a number of state-of-the-art wine farms that strive to craft the perfect wine. With more than 200 wine producers scattered across the Stellenbosch area, you are bound to find a wine that tugs at your soul strings from the very first sip. This part of the Cape has a vast terrain of vineyards and a number of local wine tasting gatherings. These
gatherings give communities the opportunity to not only taste wines but compare and trade age-old wine producing secrets. You will also get to step inside some of these wine cellars and learn exactly how the perfect bottle of wine is born.

If you want your taste buds tickled, you need to visit the beautiful area of the Paarl. Paarl, meaning “pearl” describes the three rounded forms that peak out at the top of Paarl Mountain – which you can see from many kilometres away. Situated just outside Cape Town, you get to experience Winelands and vineyards like never before. With accommodation that speaks of
exclusivity, you can choose between lodging at huge Wine Estates or opt for a more intimate bond with nature. Whether you enjoy a sweet, sparkling wine or a dry, white wine, you will definitely find it here!

Famous for its Cape Dutch architecture, Franschhoek forms one of the top and most exclusive Winelands in Cape Town. With one of its restaurants sporting a spot in the top 50 restaurants in the world, its strong wine shines through immaculately. Among the Winelands of Franschhoek, you will find craft centres, designer jewellery and exclusive artisans. Apart from that, this area also hosts many wine festivals which give individuals the chance to taste
world-renowned wines. If you’ve got an adventurous soul, you can take a horseback ride while exploring the wine route or go hiking or biking through the immaculately kept vineyards.

Constantia Area

Being only 20 minutes away from Cape Town, it is easy to fall in love with Constantia Area. With vineyards grown on the slopes of Table Mountain, a variety of aromatic wines are crafted here. Since 1685, Constantia produced wine, thus making this area the oldest wine producing sector in South Africa. While here, you can visit any one of the 10 wine farms, enjoy scrumptious meals at a number of restaurants scattered in the area or simply enjoy the untouched wilderness. You can also take part in one of the many picnic opportunities accompanied by a well-deserved wine tasting tour.

With every individual preferring a specific taste of wine, whether it is spicy, sweet or dry, the
Cape Winelands will sate your taste buds. Not only that; you get to experience how it is
produced first-hand!
